7/12/21. This blog has now shifted again. Older posts are still available, but the focus is now on the books that these posts over the years have become. Those books are now for sale as part of the Journey of Spiritual Realization series. They are a refinement of years of writing on this blog and personally on my own bridging the following systems of thought that have influenced me: 1) Theosophical teachings from Alice Bailey, Helena Blavatsky, Annie Besant, Paul Brunton, Lucille Cedercrans; 2) Integral Yoga teachings with those from Sri Aurobindo and Sri Swami Shivananda; 3) Integral Movement teachings including Ken Wilber and Don Beck the founders and others (as the movement has gotten quite large); 4) Additional influences such as Paramahansa Yogananda, the 14th Dalai Lama, Robert Thurman, teachers from the Transpersonal Psychology movement, teachers from various Esoteric Traditions and others!
The overall purpose? To do my part to create a synthesis of ideas primarily for the purpose of furthering an understanding of the new spiritual psychology.
ABOUT DR. LISA LOVE
To give you a general background on me (Lisa Love), for starters I was raised in the Christian tradition and found myself to be a natural mystic. In my teens, I became interested in psychology and parapsychology. That led me to attend college in 1978 where I furthered my studies in psychology and also took a number of classes in comparative religions. I graduated with my Bachelor’s in psychology in 1982.
Between 1982 to 1984 I furthered my education in psychology, receiving my first Masters in Marriage, Family, Child Counseling. In 1984, I became aware of the Ageless Wisdom teachings as put forth by two women — Lucille Cedercrans and Alice Bailey. Since that time a majority of my life has been spent seeking to understand their teachings and attempting to apply them in my life in a practical and not just a theoretical way.

HI Lisa, just wanted to say I really like and appreciate what you are doing here. I found you as I was reading AAB’s Esoteric Psychology Vol 1 and it occurred to me that there might be a correlation between the rays and the Enneagram types. I Googled it and–viola–found your blog post about it. Nicely done, particularly helpful to me, as an Enneagram Type 7 and saw myself in two or three of the ray descriptions. Thanks so much for your efforts, which as a reader of AAB (s-l-o-w-l-y making my way through all the books, hopefully before I die) I have reason to know that you have paid quite a price for your knowledge. Best, Otis

Dear Lisa,
I think it is great what you’re doing. I am studying the Bailey Books for some years now, following the Quest Universal course within the Morya Federation, and am sometimes frustrated as well with the lack of practicality of the Ageless Wisdom Teachings. I am trying myself to step down the knowledge via readings, articles and coaching, but have a hard time to make it understandable for people (and for myself as well :-)) I am not so familiar with Integral and Ken Wilbur, but will hopefully broaden my knowledge in this respect with your blogs and website. Many thanks for your great work!
Light, love and power, Eric

Hi Lisa, I also found your blog by google “the seven rays and the enneagram” which is the title of one chapter in the book called “With the tongues of men and angels: a study of channeling”. Thank you so much for creating this wonderful blog and sharing your experiences, knowledge and insights, which I appreciate very much, for I am also very interested in Ageless Wisdom tradition, and eager to know more about bodies, stages and levels of the Cosmos.
Although I have not begin to read AAB’s books, I have been reading Henry T. Laurency’s books which is largely based on AAB’s books. What’s more, I also read the Ra Material, a.k.a The Law of One, which contains hundreds, if not thousands, of metaphysical facts that I find to be amazing. Just in cast, (though I doubt,) you have not read about it before, I highly recommend two pieces of synthesis of the cosmology in this material, namely, “Cosmic Genesis in the Ra Material” and “Cosmogony of the Law of One” in this link: http://llresearch.org/homecomings/homecoming_2012/homecoming_2012_unified_handout.pdf
I hope these materials may assist your ongoing contributions, which I would like to look through in future. Namaste.

Are you interested also in roberto assagioli?Roberto Assagioli’s original conception of Psychosynthesis is fully aligned with Ken Wilber’s Integral Psychology. A careful research into all Assagioli’s English publications gives clear evidence of Levels, Lines of development, States, Types and to some degree the four Quadrants. He was a close associate and Friend of Alice bailey under DK… https://kennethsorensen.dk/en/integral-psychosynthesis-a-comparison-of-wilber-and-assagioli/

Yes I am very familiar with Assagioli and well aware of his influence from Alice Bailey. I was trained in Psychosynthesis for one year and am well aware of Kenneth Sorensen’s excellent work. I also know that Assagioli was one of Bailey’s students in her Discipleship in the New Age books and have read the letters addressed to him. I do mention his model in the book I am writing as well. Thanks for your feedback and feel free to leave more.

Dear :Lisa,
I discovered your website comparing Bailey and Wilber today. I myself have come from a Theosophical backgroud before connecting with Wilber. I wrote the book Ken Wilber: Thought as Passion (SUNY Press, 2003). Decades ago I wrote the book Seven Spheres (in Dutch), comparing Theosophy and transpersonal psychology. On my website you can still find three chapters from that book).
Since then I left both the esoteric and Wilberian milieus and schooled myself in science (evolutionary theory, entropy, Big History). This changed my points of view considerably.
Still I resonate with the comparative work you are doing.
Best wishes,

I have heard of your website Frank and have visited it on a number of occasions. I appreciate how you are attempting to keep an open conversation going on these matters. And, thanks for visiting this website and my meager attempts to sort a few of these systems out. Blessings, Lisa

I noticed you had subdivided the basic colors of the color scheme of Wilber into seven sub-colors. Interesting! Check out my essay on Wllber’s color model on Integral World. I claim he has left out two primary colors, Yellow and Blue, and is way too Reddish in the personal realm. This matters if you take the effect of colors seriously (which he says he does).

I thought the color scheme of Wilber and Spiral Dynamics was odd. I did not understand why they picked the colors they did and also some of the order of colors seemed off. And, yes I noticed Wilber left out Yellow and Blue as well. When I picked out the colors on my chart for Bailey I used the standard color wheel artists use to find colors (which was online). Though I didn’t really like the labels associated to the colors I found there, like Salmon, Pumpkin, Corn, Dandelion, Lime!! I thought, seriously? Who wants to say I am on the “Lime” level. Or, let’s talk about the “Corn” subplane. Oh well. I did not have the energy to innovate better labels and I thought if most artists use this, Ok, I will go with it. So, temporarily I am stuck with it until someone can help me come up with better names. I will be happy to look at your article. I did see it there. I just did not have time to read it yet. Lisa

Well, you don’t want to know how many people and organizations these days want to become “Teal”, following the success of Frederic Laloux’s book “Reinventing Organizations”. 😉
We are on the same page with the alignment of levels and colors, with Yellow being rational and Blue high-integral:

Yes Alice Baileys ( DK) books are very hard to follow, One thing you missed was that she actually says that is deliberate… it’s in a number of books, including esoteric astrology. Deliberate, because it is designed to only be fully understood by those who, have done the work, so to speak, and use developed intuition. So, Logic, is not enough. Hence academic analysis is inadequate.
Much of the writings are about evolution, the 7 rays and the like, but lacks what should we be doing NOW to advance it. That’s what is important. On the other hand, books like esoteric healing include, inherited karma, modern advancements AND how love heals, but what does healing love mean in practice?

I totally agree with you Andrew that it is deliberate. I remember that a long time ago. You would read the books and it would say things like “you are not going to understand this or we can’t reveal this” (I am paraphrasing here), and then ten pages later it would tell you what it couldn’t reveal. So, I get that there are a number of what I call “blinds.” I wonder if the ability to synthesize and present her teachings in a more coherent and less abstract way has to do with what you are saying — namely that these teachings need to be made more simple to clear the way for “”what should we be doing NOW to advance it.” As for your comment “what does healing love mean in practice?” I refer you to my post The Mental Body How the Mind Unfolds, and the comments on love that may (or may not) begin to answer this.

Hello, I don’t speak English and I use the google translator. I would like to ask what is the difference between an “integrated” personality and a non-integrated personality. Is the integrated personality more spiritual? What is the difference between an integrated person and an Applicant and what is the difference with a probationary Disciple?
If it is extended in the answers it will be very pleasant to me. Thank you!!
PS: I follow them through the translator and I really like the blog and the book that is the result of a lot of effort and knowledge

A non-integrated personality is still trying to coordinate their body, emotions, and thoughts to achieve their desires in the world of the five senses. The integrated personality is coordinated and is now able to fulfill almost all and possibly even all desires in the manifest world to achieve money, security, pleasure, sex and power. The Aspirant (or applicant) is someone who is recognizing the futility of trying to get money, security, pleasure, sex, power or anything in the manifest world as seen by the five senses to bring any ultimate happiness. But, the Aspirant is still trying to have it all — to be spiritual and still have plenty of money, security, pleasure, sex and power. In short, the Aspirant doesn’t want to give up too much because he or she is not yet identified enough with all of human kind to want to live according to deeper spiritual rules. The Probationary Disciple is just starting to apply real spiritual discipline, but he or she often falls off the path. This is a simplified version, but I hope it helps. Read my Becoming Soul book that is still online for free at the time of this post to help you more. You might be able to translate the text from those pages as well through Google. Blessings to you in your journey. Lisa
