GROUP ONE – CLASSICAL THEOSOPHY COMPARISONS

As promised this book seeks to show how others models of conscious evolution compliment what the Bailey teachings have to say.  As mentioned in CHAPTER FIVE: Survival, Physical Coordination, Individuation, the phrase “Lemurian” originally came from the Theosophical movement that Alice Bailey was once a part of. Though Theosophy mentioned that humans individualized as Lemurians, much as Bailey mentions they did, Theosophy does not focus as much on Lemurian consciousness. Rather is more inclined to speak about Lemurians as a “race” of people who were said to have lived as far back as 18 million years ago, a date most mainstream anthropologists would have a difficult time with.

So in comparison the two models reflect a shift in focus. Whether classical Theosophists agree with Bailey’s model or not, Bailey felt she was giving the psychological view of the evolution of consciousness in regards to the “seven races” of human development that Theosophists put forward. Anyone who studies Bailey’s works can easily see this focus  on describing the psychological development that underlies the Lemurian race and other races that Theosophy speaks about. Of course, it could be that classical Theosophy has much more to say about Lemurian consciousness the way Bailey does and I am just not aware of it yet. If so, please feel free to inform me and this chapter will be revised accordingly.

Moving on now to the Integral movement, you will see many parallels with Bailey’s model.
