Levels – Amber/Orange and Group 5

In this post we compare the Alice Bailey/Wisdom levels with those of Integral/Wilber. Here we step into the zone Integral calls Expert, which is a combination of their Amber and Orange and relate it to what Bailey calls Group Five.

In the Bailey teachings Group Five is said to be the largest group in terms of humanity’s consciousness. (Group Four is the next largest and Group Three the third largest), Orange (which is related to Group Six in the Bailey teachings) represents the level the masses are moving into.

Levels – Amber and Group 4

This post moves on to compare the Alice Bailey/Wisdom levels and those of Integral/Wilber taking us into what Integral calls Amber and compares it with Bailey’s Group Four.

Said to be the largest segment of the world population by both the Alice Bailey teachings and those of the Integral movement, Amber is easily identifiable if you simply spend a short time surfing through hundreds of cable channels.  Understanding where most of humanity is at is very important if we are to help people move forward.

Levels – Red and Group 3

This post moves on to compare the Alice Bailey/Wisdom levels and those of Integral/Wilber taking us into what Integral calls Red and compares it with Bailey’s Group Three.

As a reminder in Esoteric Psychology II, pp. 203 – 207, 10 groups of evolving humanity are presented. Now, I will draw parallels between the third level in Integral known as Red and Group Three talked about in the Alice Bailey model. Note: these parallels will be very brief.

Again let’s look at the Integral Map to orient ourselves.

Levels – Magenta & Group 2

This post continues the series of comparisons between the Alice Bailey/Wisdom levels and those of Integral/Wilber taking us into what Integral calls Magenta and compares it with Bailey’s Group Two.

As mentioned before Alice Bailey lists 10 Groups of human beings in her book Esoteric Psychology, II (written in the 1930’s but completed and copyrighted in 1942).  These groups are extremely close to what is written about in the Integral community making me wonder if what is written about in Integral is even inspired at some point by what she taught.  In this post we will compare what is said about Group Two and the Magenta Integral level.

Levels – Infrared and Group 1

This post was originally created seven years ago. Information on Alice Bailey’s Group 1 (that we are now calling Infant Humanity) and how it relates to the Integral system by Ken Wilber has now been turned into a short video and a 56 page book! The Egoic Lotus Petals – A Quick Look

This post helps familiarize those who are unaware of it regarding the nature of what is known as the Egoic Lotus, which is used in the Alice Bailey model, with it’s twelve symbolic stages of spiritual growth. The information in this post is just a brief overview.

Alice Bailey and the Egoic Lotus

The Egoic Lotus is said to have twelve petals, each symbolizing a stage (or level) of growth.  These twelve petals are grouped into four categories with three petals each.

Levels

This post is an attempt to line up the levels as presented by Ken Wilber and the Integral theorists with the levels presented by Alice Bailey known as the “egoic lotus.” It begins by showing the basic differences between the two models.

One of the difficulties when comparing the Integral model with the Alice Bailey model in regards to levels is how many more levels are in the Bailey model than the Integral one.  Also, the Alice Bailey model is far more extensive in the descriptions of the various levels than anything found in Integral, leaving one to feel at times that Integral is doing a process of catch-up to the Bailey model which has been in existence almost 100 years.

States

Following are brief thoughts about parallels between Ageless Wisdom and the Wilber/Integral model related to “states of consciousness.”

Integral/Wilber Model

States of consciousness can be divided into three general categories.

  1. Waking (Gross body)
  2. Sleeping (Subtle body)
  3. Deep Dreamless Sleep  (Causal body).

Everyone, regardless of your stage of development goes through these three stages whenever we fall asleep and wake up.  We have various experiences (or states of experience) when we are in the waking state and in the gross body through the use of the five senses and are in the Alpha brain wave patterns.  Daydreaming means we are still in the gross body, so even though we are in Beta brain wave patterns, these dream-like experiences are still related to waking states.

Types

Not everyone is the same or evolves spiritually in the same way.  That is the idea behind different types.

Integral/Wilber Types

The integral approach to its credit is attempting to look at how people evolve in various ways.  The most notable is the difference between men and women and some ideas have been put forth here primarily borrowing on Carol Gilligan’s stages of moral development.

Though not intrinsically a part of the Integral Operating System, the nine types of the Enneagram are also recognized, especially in regards to how these nine types evolve along nine levels as outlined in the book Personality Types by Don Riso.  (Note: These nine levels are not directly connected with the levels and stages of the Integral map).  (Note: The Types of Male/Female are on the far left of the map below).
